Joined San Francisco Police Department in January 1978 and worked as a police officer until January 1981. Lou was the President of the 130th recruit class of the SFPD. He received a Bronze Medal of Valor for bravery capturing a convicted murderer and a Board of Supervisors commendation for arresting a serial rapist. In addition, Lou received over 40 Captains commendations for outstanding police work, all in a 3 year career. Prior to leaving the department Lou was appointed as the youngest Field Training Officer in the history of the SFPD.
January 1981: began insurance career with a large family owned insurance agency in San Mateo, specializing in commercial and agribusiness insurance.
1987-1993 began career with Nationwide Insurance, specializing in commercial insurance production. Lou and his three partners had the largest premium volume office of any Nationwide Insurance office in the USA.
1993-Present – Lou joined Professional Insurance Associates, where he has produced and currently services hundreds of commercial customers from virtually all industries. Lou brings extensive finance and risk management expertise to his many clients.
Married to Kristy Colzani with 3 children.

Hobbies include flying, golf, 1960’s music and muscle cars, politics, gourmet cooking, fine wine and his beloved SF Giants but most importantly spending quality time with family.
Tim joined PIA in November of 2000. After graduating from SJSU in 1979 he began his career with Cooper & Cook Insurance Services specializing in large construction accounts. Tim has been a licensed professional for over 30 years and has expert knowledge in all lines of insurance and bonding for all industries. He is a strong believer in continuing education and self improvement and has received several professional designations. Tim’s long term success and reputation is primarily due to his constant commitment to serving his clients . He is active in his church and community and has served as a member of the Lion’s Club and Jaycees. Tim has also coached youth soccer and basketball and is an avid golfer.
Jordan, a San Mateo native, started his insurance career in 1980 after graduating from San Diego State University with a degree in Health Sciences with an emphasis in Occupational Safety and Health. He first started working as a Loss Control Representative and then advanced to insurance sales working for the country’s largest direct writing insurance company in San Jose and San Diego. After five years he moved over to the brokerage side to broaden his services for his growing clientele working for the world’s second largest brokerage in San Francisco.
Jordan joined P.I.A. in 2000 to again service his clientele and build on his client base. P.I.A. is the perfect fit as a family owned agency representing all the major national and regional insurance companies with the products and services to handle any size or type of business. Jordan has worked with all classes of business over his 30 plus year insurance career. From government municipalities, industrial food processors, construction, retail and wholesale, professional services, manufacturing, and life sciences. From startups to fortune 1000 companies Jordan and P.I.A. can handle all of your insurance needs.
When not working for his clients Jordan enjoys time with his two daughters, boating, riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle or driving his family heirloom’s 1965 Ford Mustang convertible”.
With over thirty years of experience as an insurance broker, Chuck brings a ‘hands on’ approach to service, offering risk management espertise and innovative solutions to his clients insurance needs.
He began his career as a Workers’ Compensation underwriter rapidly moving up to a Marketing Manger position for a company specializing in the construction industry. His unique perspective to risk has led to the reduction of net cost to many of his clients. He has been with Professional Insurance Associates for close to ten years, providing exceptional service to all of his clients.
Chuck, as a long time resident of the Willow Glen area of San Jose, raised his three children who all live and work in the Bay Area. He was deeply involved in coaching youth baseball, basketball and soccer, and has been active in community affairs, including being past President of the Los Altos Lions Club.
Hobbies include golf, art, gourmet cooking and travel. Chuck was born and raised in the Chicago area, is an ardent and life long Chicago Cubs fan.
As a thirty-year veteran in the insurance industry, Greg Ochinero has proved to be a valuable addition to PIA’s team as a hospitality industry insurance specialist. Greg began his career as a college agent for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in 1981 while attending Fresno State University. In 1984, Greg joined his father in the property and casualty insurance arena as a broker for Ochinero Insurance Agency, his family’s business. Around that time, Greg decided to specialize in the hospitality industry given his background working in several upscale restaurants since the age of sixteen and through his college tenure.
Greg is known widely as an advocate for both the restaurant and hotel industries through his involvement in the California Restaurant Association as past Silicon Valley Chapter President and associate member of the California Hotel and Motel Association. Through these longstanding affiliations, Greg has a unique understanding of the challenges that face these industries and is able to shape insurance and risk management strategies that meet the specific needs of these industries. Greg’s philosophy is to create trusting relationships with his clients for the long term by providing insurance products and services that are not only competitive, but provide for the unique needs of restaurants and hotels. This can also be shown by the loyalty of his clientelle as many of them have remained with Greg and relied upon his expertise for over twenty-five years. Greg is able to tap into the vast resources of PIA, Inc. by taking advantage of the largesse of of PIA’s countless carrier appointments and relationships, many of which also follow Greg’s specialization in the hospitality industry. Greg looks forward to remaining on the leading edge as a hospitality industry insurance specialty broker by continuing to provide specialized insurance and risk management products and services into the future.
